The Senior Global Financial Reporting Accountant position will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and analysis of financial information for the CarVal Fund entities, including internal/external reporting deliverables pertaining to investment company accounting and reporting requirements.
Principal Accountabilities
Participate in the monthly close of the CarVal Funds' books and records. This process will include consolidation of CarVal Fund entities, preparation of internal financial statements and the completion of various other month end control/review procedures related to CarVal Fund accounting activities.
Prepare and analyze financial information that will be included within quarterly and annual reports issued to the investors of the CarVal Funds
Assist with misc. projects related to the implementation of investment company policy and process changes
Prepare ad-hoc reporting deliverables requested by Fund management
Participate in the annual audit by preparing audit schedules and other financial information requested by external auditors
Skills
Required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
4+ years relevant work experience in accounting
2+ years of financial reporting and/or consolidation accounting experience
Desired:
Experience with PeopleSoft Summit general ledger system
Genesis/IRIS experience
Understanding of investment companies
Exposure to CarVal Investors asset classes and investment structures
Project management Experience with Cargill information technology and systems
Highly motivated and self directed
Flexible, works well under pressure
Ability to work extra hours as needed
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
Ability to gather and aggregate global information
Effective team player with strong analytical and problem solving skills
