The position of Section Manager requires conscientious and self-motivated accountants to work with experienced professionals as part of a team providing accounting services to the offshore fund industry. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management and conversion of new and existing client relationships
  • Review net asset value calculations
  • Vet offering documents and service agreements for hedge funds, mutual funds, unit trusts, partnerships etc.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and assist with fund launches including set up of books and records/preparation of first month NAV
  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements for funds including audit working papers
  • Train and supervise staff ensuring quality and timeliness of delivery
  • Assist with preparation of NAVs as and when necessary
  • Assist with development of information systems, both accounting and transfer agency
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of a team and for conducting staff appraisals

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognized professional accounting designation with at least 2 years of hedge fund accounting experience in a supervisory capacity or a university degree with at least 5 years of hedge fund accounting of which most has been gained in a supervisory role
  • Significant experience in preparation of financial statements for audit
  • In depth knowledge of investments including derivatives, management/performance fee calculations and equalization accounting
  • Strong knowledge in structuring hedge funds and preparation of material documents
  • Working knowledge of MS Office with extensive experience with Bloomberg and other fund accounting software
  • Experience with compliance issues, corporate secretarial and transfer agency services would be an advantage
  • Experience with conducting performance appraisals is essential
  • Work overtime as necessary to satisfy client deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as need arises
