The position of Section Manager requires conscientious and self-motivated accountants to work with experienced professionals as part of a team providing accounting services to the offshore fund industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with the management and conversion of new and existing client relationships
Review net asset value calculations
Vet offering documents and service agreements for hedge funds, mutual funds, unit trusts, partnerships etc.
Coordinate with internal departments and assist with fund launches including set up of books and records/preparation of first month NAV
Supervise the preparation of financial statements for funds including audit working papers
Train and supervise staff ensuring quality and timeliness of delivery
Assist with preparation of NAVs as and when necessary
Assist with development of information systems, both accounting and transfer agency
Responsible for the day-to-day management of a team and for conducting staff appraisals
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Recognized professional accounting designation with at least 2 years of hedge fund accounting experience in a supervisory capacity or a university degree with at least 5 years of hedge fund accounting of which most has been gained in a supervisory role
Significant experience in preparation of financial statements for audit
In depth knowledge of investments including derivatives, management/performance fee calculations and equalization accounting
Strong knowledge in structuring hedge funds and preparation of material documents
Working knowledge of MS Office with extensive experience with Bloomberg and other fund accounting software
Experience with compliance issues, corporate secretarial and transfer agency services would be an advantage
Experience with conducting performance appraisals is essential
Work overtime as necessary to satisfy client deadlines
